Toolkit My 1040 Data (Form 1040) and the Tax Questionnaire (Form 1040NR)

My1040Data

The tax organizer My1040Data takes you step by step through a tax questionnaire for a complex individual tax return (Form 1040). All information is password protected. Please let us know, when want to use this tool. We will populate the tool from your tax return of the prior year. If you are a new or prospective client, we will provide you with the access upon request.

Nonresident aliens who received income from U.S. sources in 2016 also must determine whether they have a U.S. tax obligation. The filing deadline for nonresident aliens can be April 15 or June 16 depending on sources of income. See Taxation of Nonresident Aliens on IRS.gov. To assist you with the information needed for the preparation of the 2016 tax return, we provide you with our tax questionnaire.

Offshore Disclosures

Our toolkit for Offshore Disclosures and for the Voluntary Disclosure Programs ("2012 Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program – 2012 OVDP") has grown into the separate section "Offshore Disclosures". The penalties for missing disclosures are draconian and unexpected. They are the "roadside bombs" of the system of self-assessment, the traps for the unwary, which we help you avoid or, through the Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program, defuse.

Other Tools in our Tool Box

The toolkit "International Tax Topic Index" is specifically designed for taxpayers with international filing requirements. Other tools in our tool box are the IRS Tax Map, IRS Services Guide, Direct Pay, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) About International Individual Tax Matters, Tax Information for International Businesses, Withholding of Tax on Nonresident Aliens and Foreign Entities, the BSA E-Filing System for the Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) and the Transcript Delivery System and last but not least the IRS2Go smartphone application.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) provides several self-service tax tools for individual taxpayers, businesses, and tax professionals with information formerly only accessible through tax preparers (intermediaries). The number of tools is expanding. Here are some of these tools:
